Yes, I second that, You guys are doing an awesome job :)
Awesome post... Where is the factory? UAE?
You guys are using a 2G (GSM) module. 2G has "sunset" by all US carriers except T-Mobile who will only limitedly support it for a short time longer. How are you guys planning to support your US clients?
I guess they won't be. This would be politely called an "engineering oversight."
2g. Tough luck Japan. New Zealand. Australia. ....and the rest. USA, you only got a couple of years of as promised and paid for security. Roll over Netherland.
My wife's e-bike was stolen yesterday. Japan is generally a safe country but recently bike theft (e-bikes) is a real problem.
That's both our bikes gone now. Still they weren't locked to anything so I guess they were picked up and put in a van... My Nireeka will be locked with two locks and to a metal post.
Real shame about the 2G... Maybe Nireeka will offer an ECU upgrade in the future.
Ohh the 2G sucks 😕 Australia won't even support 3G by 2019... So a part of the bike will be obsolete before it is even built 🤔
Everything else looks great though aha
not lol. not a joke. Completely sucks that back in august, months before even ordering the parts for the ECU they knew that this ECU is 20 years out of date. Be stolen in USA, Japan and Australia and not have coverage. Sucks.
Will there be any way to replace the ECU in future? @Max Shojaie @Max Shojaie
Be careful if you are buying this bike in the EU. I have eventually received mine and so far it has not been a good experience. Other than limited manuals on delivery, I now find there is no way of controlling the bike as the ECU doesn't work here. There is, therefore, no control/GPS/Radar App that works on any mobile device. I understand it does work in the US, but was told they have not finished the ECU software for the EU and they have no date for when it is ready. Support is awful, suggesting the above issues were known to me as I live in the EU and I was told this when I bought the bike. Sorry, but I did not and I do not believe the company knew about the EU regulations then. The bike also came with some small defects, to which, I get no answer.
It is a disappointing reality that, currently, this bike is just not fit for purpose in the EU! Note - EU bikes do not have a throttle and as a result, there is no electric cruise mode, only pedal assist, so that cool no pedalling cruise along the beach is just not possible. Can someone with customer care please let me know when these things are going to be addressed? Show less
Sorry mate, you are mostly incorrect. The ECU has not yet been completed or sent to anyone, so yes, some of the features do not work as of yet, however the ECU is very close to being completed. No one has the ECU yet, not in the US or EU or anywhere else, and once it is completed everyone will get it, and it will work for everyone no matter the country. Note that you will need to pay a telecommunications company for a Sim card to activate the GPS tracking for the bike, as it needs to be connected to a cellular network for it to work.
So not completely incorrect, it means all the bikes have been shipped without a working ECU, something I find hard to understand. Does that mean nobody has a mobile app that works either? That is one of my biggest criticisms as it shows how brilliant an app can work with the bike, but it doesn't work. No problem using a SIM card, I have one that I can interchange with my car, but better still, have an app integrated on my Apple phone and use the GPS from there.
The YouTube videos show people cruising on their bikes, how is this possible? With the current software, any time I stop pedalling, the bike starts to erratically slow down, I can find no way to get this to just cruise!
Yeah, if you have been following the campaign, they have had issues with the ECU, and had to start again from scratch, but this time, they have one that is working, and that is better than the last one. Everyone will get it soon enough. The issue is, you have an EU version which has no throttle, only pedal assist, so you can't cruise unless you can find some way to retrofit a throttle, sorry to break that to you, but you shouldn't of got the EU one if that was what you were wanting.
